Privacy
Don't Crack! is a browser party game: a try not to laugh challenge you play with friends. This page explains what happens with your data.
Camera and microphone
Laugh detection runs only on your own device. Raw audio and video are never uploaded to our server and nothing is recorded. The server only receives results such as “laughed / didn't”, detector levels and device status.
If you choose Show my camera, your video (no sound) is sent directly to the other players in your room over an encrypted peer-to-peer connection. When a direct connection isn't possible it is relayed, still encrypted, through a TURN server (Cloudflare). It is never stored. You can turn sharing off at any time.
What the server keeps
Your nickname, avatar, room chat and game progress are kept in memory while your room exists and are deleted when the room closes (at the latest after 24 hours). There are no accounts. Basic request logs (such as IP addresses) may be kept briefly for security and abuse prevention.
To improve the game we keep simple usage statistics for up to 90 days: your nickname, the room, when you played, device type (phone/tablet/desktop), detection mode and game results. No IP addresses are stored with these statistics.
On your device
We use your browser's local storage for preferences such as your nickname, avatar, detector calibration, your own playlist link and whether you have played before. This never leaves your device.
Videos from YouTube and TikTok
Clips are played with the official YouTube and TikTok embedded players. These services may set their own cookies and collect data under their own privacy policies (Google, TikTok).
